Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) financing is an arrangement that allows organizations to benefit from solar energy without the capital investment required for the installation and maintenance of the solar panels.
This article will outline the step-by-step process for going solar with PPA financing.
Step 1: Analyze Energy Use
Project status: Estimated offer

The first step in going solar with PPA financing is to analyze your energy use. Start by reviewing your property list and selecting the properties that you would like to consider for solar energy. Input energy data for those properties to get a more accurate and detailed analysis of the energy consumption. There are three ways that you can provide energy data for a property: share utility logins, provide access to a third party utility manager, or manually upload energy data. We’ll use the data you provide to design the clean energy system that best matches the building’s energy use patterns.

Step 2: Evaluate Property
Project status: Verified offer

After analyzing your energy consumption, review your detailed analysis to determine which properties meet your energy, financial, or sustainability goals. Complete a property evaluation form to receive a term sheet from your solar investor.

Step 3: Align on terms
Project status: Term sheet

Your solar investor will provide you with a term sheet that includes your terms and pricing. We’ll help you review the terms carefully and engage with your tenants to ensure that they understand and agree to the terms. Once you have aligned on the terms, you are ready to move to the next step.

Step 4: Sign PPA
Project status: PPA contract

Sign the PPA with your solar investor. Once the PPA is signed, you are ready to go solar! Your solar investor's team will work with you to get the construction team access to your property and install the solar panels.

Step 5: Go Solar!

Congratulations, you are now ready to be solar-powered! You can write a press release, brag to your friends, or simply get ready to be energized by the sun. Going solar is an excellent way to save money, reduce your carbon footprint, and contribute to a more sustainable future.
